APPP, in cooperation with JICA, started to provide a training course for capacity building of high-ranking officials of the State Bank of Vietnam in August 2012. The participants (trainees) of the training course include Directors General or Deputy Directors General of headquarter departments and local branches. The Training Course aims to enhance the executives to conduct pertinent monetary policy, and provide five modules (one-week intensive course of lectures) in five areas, such as “macroeconomic policy management”, “banking supervision”, “international financial integration”, “monetary policy”, and “financial markets”. The first round training course is planned to be completed by the end of fiscal year 2012 and, as of the end of December 2012, two of five modules have already been implemented.
