Prof. Ariyoshi reached his retirement age at the end of March last year. However, he agreed to continue to teach at APPP while his successor was sought. We were fortunate to find Prof. Nemoto, who began teaching from April this year. Prof. Nemoto had a distinguished career at Japan's Ministry of Finance. He was also the head of the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) until recently. With his arrival, Prof. Ariyoshi left APPP, and is now a professor at the International University of Japan (IUJ).
Prof. Kunieda moved to Chuo University, where he is now teaching economics and fiscal policy to students majoring in law. His successor has been chosen, but his arrival will be in August.
